Christine Phillips is a public relations, marketing, design and style expert specializing in the field of interiors with a splash of fashion. Phillips began her cross-platform career in Chicago where she worked on fashion shows, advertising campaigns, photography sets and showroom design, revamping luxury retail spaces on Michigan Avenue.
Eventually, Phillips moved to Wisconsin and began working with a local designer to oversee the nascent company’s sales and public relations. During her tenure, Phillips constructed a holistic marketing/branding/public relations campaign that included capturing projects with HGTV, E! Entertainment Television and the Oprah Winfrey Show. She was also pivotal in bringing product placement to such coveted retail markets as Target and the Neiman Marcus group and collaborated on numerous licensing programs. Soon Christine was hired by the multi-national lifestyle giant Kohler Company to head up the marketing and design department for Kallista, the corporation’s luxury plumbing brand.
During her years at Kallista, Phillips championed all showroom, interior, and set designs for the quickly mushrooming company’s roll out of the premier showroom program across the country. Handling all public relations initiatives, she also designed and oversaw the implementation of all trade shows and marketing displays. Working with such high-end shelter and lifestyle publications as ELLE DECOR, House Beautiful, InStyle, Veranda and Traditional Home to name a few, Phillips spent much of her time on the road developing relationships with the country’s top editors and stylists. Phillips also oversaw Kallista’s licensing partnerships, photography and national advertising campaigns working with designers like Michael S. Smith and Barbara Barry, along with top-tier photographers like Sheila Metzner and Lisa Romerein.
In early 2005, Phillips created her own firm, Viola!~ PR and Design, a one-stop shop for high-end design implementation/branding/marketing/event planning/licensing negotiations and new business development strategies with high end interior design projects rounding out the mix.
Demand for her services with grand luxury residential and landscape design projects soon followed. Since then, her clients have been featured in ELLE DÉCOR, House Beautiful, Veranda, Architectural Digest, Luxe, Traditional Home, Town and Country, House & Garden, InStyle, Metropolitan Home, Interior Design, Domino, Romantic Homes, Victoria, Cottages and Gardens (Hamptons and Palm Beach), The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, and Modern Luxury publications coast to coast. Her own design work was also showcased at the 2006 Neo Con World Trade Show and the Hamptons Cottages and Gardens showhouse 2006. Phillips is currently designing residential projects nationwide while handling public relations, new business development and branding initiatives, project management and events for a stable of A-list clientele. Over the last 12 years, she spearheaded licensing agreements with Bradburn Lighting Gallery, Eastern Accents bedding, Merida natural fiber carpets, Mirror Image Home, Nourison Carpets, and Winfield Thybony wallcoverings in tandem with famed interior designer Barclay Butera. This past spring, Butera launched his long-awaited outdoor furniture license with Castelle, and most recently Phillips signed Barclay with a new furniture license with Lexington Home Brands set to debut fall 2017. She also began heading up New York design legend Anthony Baratta’s licensing efforts with a launch for Thomasville Furniture and Wildcat Territory bedding collections. Christine recently orchestrated an incredible collaboration between Baratta and Capel Rugs- 2 great all-American icons. Phillips splits her time between bases in Kohler, New York and Los Angeles. She is the proud mom of seventeen-year-old Alexander.
